Brownback/Colyer endorsed by state troopers association

The gubernatorial campaign of Republicans Sam Brownback and Jeff Colyer was endorsed by the Kansas State Troopers Association.

From the release:

“We believe that Senator Brownback will strengthen law enforcement in Kansas through forward thinking and a willingness to seek the input of our members who are in the field everyday serving the citizens of Kansas”, Eric Haskin, Chairman of the Kansas State Troopers Association PAC said. “In our conversation with Senator Brownback it is clear that he understands the needs of the Troopers out patrolling the highways of Kansas. He understands that our budget has been affected adversely like other state agencies in recent years and we believe he will make public safety a priority in his administration. “

Brownback said in response, “We are extremely honored to receive an endorsement from the Kansas State Troopers Association today in support of our campaign. For decades, the association has been working to improve public safety for Kansans and contributing to their communities by supporting charitable causes such as the Kansas Special Olympics, After Proms for Kansas High Schools and sponsoring families of officers slain in the line of duty to attend the National Law Enforcement Memorial.”
