Holland/Kultala endorsed by KNEA

The Kansas National Education Association endorsed the Democratic gubernatorial ticket of Tom Holland and Kelly Kultala. Accordingt ot he campaign, KNEA has a history of endorsing moderates.

“I’m glad to see both Republicans and Democrats on the list of KNEA endorsed candidates. We need bipartisan solutions to the challenges facing Kansas,” said Holland. “I have a track record of reaching across the aisle to prevent further cuts in the classroom. As Governor, I will continue to work with Republicans, Independents and Democrats so that every Kansas child receives a quality public education.

“Sam Brownback is the wrong choice for Kansas schools. He favors taking public money away from public schools and giving it to private institutions through vouchers. He’s voted against hiring more teachers to reduce class size and he consistently opposes after school programs to help struggling students.

“Sam Brownback has been in Washington for so long that he’s forgotten about Kansas students, teachers and parents.”

  1. For the most part, the only time the KNEA endorses a Republican is when there is no Democrat in the race. The KNEA, better known as the teachers union, protects bad teachers and slows down progress in education.
