We’ve noticed a rise of fake Twitter accounts recently that, perhaps better than most, signify how juvenile the race between Todd Tiahrt and Jerry Moran has become. Seemingly not satisfied with parodies of the candidates themselves, we have now reached the point where specific parts of the candidate’s anatomies are being personified.
Twitter accounts now exist for Todd Tiahrt’s hair and Jerry Moran’s forehead.
Granted, neither hair nor foreheads can address issues that actually affect everyday Kansans, like a rising federal deficit, rural sustainability, an encroaching bureaucracy or anything else that, you know, matters. But why get into all that when more anonymous, immature jabs can be tossed out? That’s what’s really important.
