New Moran ad hits Tiahrt over ‘false attacks’

Here’s the latest Moran ad, which hits back at Tiahrt over what the ad labels “false attacks”.

  1. I’m sure someone will take offense to the “votes with Republicans over 90% of the time” bit, but this is what I love about Moran. If all we want is someone to vote the party line in DC, we could just send a robot. Moran will vote against the Republicans if something is bad for Kansas. That is the sort of representation we need and that is what the tea partiers should be supporting too. Conservative, with a local focus.

  2. I started off very neutral in this race because I felt both men had solid records in Congress, but what switched it for me were all of the events for Moran being sponsored by people who were either liberals or sleazebags, or both.

At the same time, Tiahrt was picking up endorsements from people like Dr. James Dobson and solid conservative leaders in both Congress and our state legislature.

This is an important race in an important year and we need to send the strongest candidate that we have for this seat and Moran is simply not that person.

  3. I saw the latest attack ad from Mr. Moran in which he refers to the phony issue of him coming home every week-end. By his tortured reasoning that automatically makes him closer to his constitutients in the 1st District and a true Kansas resident. Since he comes home each week-end he infers that he is cleansed of the Washington oder that he asserts clings to Mr. Tiahrt, who bought a condo in Washington and has gone native.

Well my friends, I did some diggin and found out that out of the last 182 week-ends Mr. Tiahrt came back to Kansas 156 week-ends! My math tells me that Tiahrt returned home 86% of the time! In regards to the 14% several of those week-ends both Messrs. Tiahrt and Moran had to be in the nation’s capitol for important votes.

I also read in the Sun Publication (Johnson County) that in their endorsement of Mr. Moran he has strongs ties in Johnson county and has developed strong political relationships over the years.

Now, let me figure this out. Mr. Moran which is it? Are you going home each weekend to see your family and consitutents in the 1st District or are you off hobknobbing with folks in the 3rd District?

I don’t know about you all but it seems to me Mr. Tiahrt is in touch with his constitutents as much and maybe a tad more than Mr. Moran. And I didn’t know that it was a worse thing to buy a piece of property to house your family as opposed to renting a place on C Street like Mr. Moran did.

What a stupid non-issue. Is that the best you got Mr. Moran; debating who gets home the most?

  4. I have one final comment regarding Mr. Moran’s assertion that his heart bleeds true Kansas red while Mr. Tiahrt’s bleeds Washington D.C. black.

I believe that Todd and Vicki Tiahrt have owned their modest home in Goddard for the last 29 years. And if you drive buy some week-end you’ll find Todd or their son John out cutting the lawn.

Also in Mr. Moran’s latest ad he claims that he is the true Conservative while Mr. Tiahrt has run off the reservation. Now I personally do not place a lot of stock in endorsements but they do sometimes indicate a trend or thought pattern that is insightful into the character of a candidate. A stray endorsement here and there does not impress me but endorsements from the leading Conservatives in our county does get my attention.

For example, Mr. Tiahrt has been endorsed by, Kansans for Life, The Tea Party Express, Dr. James Dobson, Bill Bennett, Mark Levin, Carl Rove, Dennis Hastert plus 25 Kansas state legislators in a mass endorsement. Do you see a thread of insight or trend here?

Mr. Tiahrt is being endorsed by some of the best minds, movers and shakers of the Conservative wing of the Republican Party. If they thought Mr. Moran was the true Conservative and could withstand the slings and arrows that will come from the left they would have endorsed him; BUT THEY DID NOT, THEY ENDORSED TODD TIAHRT.

Like I’ve said before I want Todd Tiahrt, an oak tree standing in our Kansas prairie, not a reed like Jerry Moran bending in the wind.

  5. Steve Rose at The Sun, the voice of Johnson County’s sleazy establishment just endorsed Moran owing to his close ties to Johnson County.

  6. A proper Kansas prairie, maintained by occasional burning, should not contain any oaks.
Tiahrt needs to put together a commercial, much like Moran’s commercial that shows him driving the backroads of Kansas, showing Tiahrt mowing his lawn in Goddard. Surely that will sway voters.
