Barnett to open Salina office

Senator Jim Barnett announced Monday that he will be opening a Salina campaign office Thursday. The office is located at 115 S. Santa Fe.

“I’ve been hearing from people across the district that Washington is out-of-control. We need to reduce government spending, cut taxes, create jobs and repeal Obama-care,” said Jim Barnett. “This office in Salina will increase our outreach with the concerned citizens of the Big First.”

The office is the second in a 60-mile radius as the campaign opened an office in Hutchinson earlier this month.

The opening of the Hutchinson office (325 N. Main Street) was accompanied by a hoax E-mail claiming the office wasn’t opening as planned because of flooding in Barnett’s Kansas City area home. Barnett does not own a home in Kansas City and the campaign calls the E-mail a “lie and a dirty trick.”

About Katie Stockstill-Sawyer

I am a city girl that is learning about life on the farm. I met and married a fourth-generation farmer, Derek. I am now a farmer's wife and country girl. The move has required a few changes and a lot of learning. But I wouldn't change my new life and all of the little lessons and surprises it provides.
