Patton endorses Moran

Rep. Jerry Moran received another shot of support from the conservative wing Thursday with the endorsement of Rep. Joe Patton of the state’s 54th District, which covers much of Shawnee County.

“With spending out of control, it is essential we have someone willing to stand up for Kansas against the growth of government and that is why I am proud to endorse Jerry Moran,” said State Rep. Patton. “Jerry has the integrity and leadership necessary to lead Kansas in the U.S. Senate fighting for families and fiscal responsibility.”

Patton has been acknowledged as one of the House’s leading conservatives and his endorsements help’s Moran’s campaign gain more “cred” among conservative voters.

  1. Rep. Patton is endorsing the guy that pays his daughter-in-law?

  2. Please Moran supporters defend this endorsement and their campaign not even disclosing the family relation between Rep. Patton and a paid staffer on the Moran campaign.

    • Did the Tiahrt campaign disclose every PAC donation they made to the vast majority of their legislative endorsers? Oh wait. I forgot. I wasn’t supposed to mention that little detail.

Oh….and there is the other little detail….the PAC contribution’s Tiahrt made to a ton of liberal GOP legislators who vote against abortion restrictions and to raise taxes. Conservative? Real Deal? HARDLY.

      • seriouslytryhardernexttime,
What should I try harder on? While you deflect the question and play six degrees of separation, I provide a logical and obvious unethical connection for this endorsement:
        Step 1: Moran pays Patton’s daugther-in-law
        Step 2: Patton endorses Moran
See that? I didn’t even need to try hard to make my point.

      • As I said…..
Step 1: Todd Tiahrt provides cash contributions to multiple state legislators.
Step 2: Surprise. They endorse Todd Tiahrt.
Go do the research. Its all right there….in black and white.

Tiahrt also tried to buy Patton’s support by contributing to his campaign. Then when Tiart’s check didn’t buy Patton’s support, Tiahrt accuses Patton of having an “unethical connection” to the Moran campaign. Right. Once again….the Tiahrt attacks have ZERO merit.

      • You’re right! Tiahrt shouldn’t have contributed to help other Republicans with their elections, he should have been like Jerry and just hoarded all the money to himself!
Anyway, how much could Tiahrt have contributed to Patton’s campaign? I am guessing far less than Patton’s daughter-in-law’s salary. Now this is where you deflect again and have no problem with an endorsement being bought because it’s Jerry doing the buying. WE GOT IT! YOU’RE A HYPOCRITE! Yawn…now I’m bored with you.

  3. Except for the fact that most of Tiahrt’s contributions went to people who didn’t have opponents….what else is that besides buying endorsement? Pot. Kettle. Black.

And you are forgetting about Tiahrt’s contribution to several pro-abortion, pro-tax candidates. Quite the endorsement on Tiahrt’s part.

  4. “I just think going after the families is out of bounds.”
    -Todd Tiahrt, Jan. 30, 2010.

    Oh, really.

  5. Ok, so maybe this isn’t an earth-shattering endorsement, but to make an accusation that the only reason for the endorsement is his daughter-in-law’s job is ridiculous. Heaven forbid two people in the same family support the same candidate. You know, people in the same family tend to have similar political views. The Tiahrt camp seems to think that everything is some sort of conspiracy and the world is against them.

HA HA! That’s a good one! Oh wait, are you serious? That would be really sad if you are.

  6. This is really a non-issue “rinofighter”. The real issue at hand is that Moran is pulling away in this race and is sprinting down the homestrech while Tiahrt thinks palling around with his Washington buddy Karl Rove will resonate with Kansans. Who is next? Tom Delay or Jack Abramoff?
