Kobach wades into Nebraska immigration fight

Kris Kobach, candidate for Secretary of State, has again waded into (what else?) the immigration issue.

Kobach, who gained considerable attention when it was discovered he had helped craft the new immigration (some would say ethnic profiling) law in Arizona, is now helping kick up a storm in Fremont, Nebraska, where citizens are about to vote on an immigration ordinance that Kobach helped the city develop.

The ordinance is designed to prevent immigrants here illegally from being hired by businesses and from gaining housing.

A fact sheet posted by the city can be viewed here: Immigration Ordinance – Fact Sheet – June 2 2010 (1).

The proposed ordinance can be viewed here: Immigration Ordinance – ProposedOrd5165

The special election in Fremont is June 21.
