Barnett campaign communications staffer Patrick Graham just sent out this press release:
Senator Barnett has been very clear that he opposes individual mandates and one-size fits all government programs. It’s sad when a politician like Tim Huelskamp thinks that winning is more important than telling the truth.
This bill was introduced for discussion on behalf of the Committee. It ultimately became a bill that directed the authority to find market based solutions, encourage fiscal and individual responsibility and facilitate the pooling of health insurance for small businesses and individuals. Not only did Senator Barnett support that legislation, but so did Tim Huelskamp.
The Barnett campaign did attach a copy of the Senate Journal, which indicates on March 21, 2007, a substitute for SB 309 did pass the senate unanimously, 40-0.
The plot thickens. I’m getting some good, neutral party information on SB 309 soon, so stay tuned.
